cold, cold days...

It's getting cold...

When the cold comes I don't want to do anything productive. Typically I just want to curl up in a ball and avoid everything that is outside of my blankie. Instead of anything productive, I've been making new things, and playing with Owen. I now consider these "productive days."
Though, they're not.... not REALLY!

We haven't been up to much. Owen has his first little cold, so we've been staying home. So, to post some cute pictures of Owee, I thought I'd share some things I've made with you.
After I got a grip on the sewing machine Chad asked me to hem some pants for him. I saved the scraps from them and made myself a headband/ear warmer....

I made flowers out of some old t-shirts... and tada!
And, for Owen I made another pair of pants...

I fell in love with this old man fabric, houndstooth is my thing lately. Plus, it's super soft! I added knee pads this time, I like the way they turned out!!

I haven't decided the best way to wear it yet... hair up, hair down...?
But, it is kind of fun. And... I have worn it a few times.

Okay... enough of my LOVELY pictures.

Lets move on to a much cuter model :)

I also made the shirt. Another old man throw back... suspenders.
I LOVE this shirt.
He wears it all the time!

MUCH cuter model... the cutest, I would say!
I'll try to share more "productive" items at a later date.
Most of them are presents, so you'll have to wait until after Santa comes!

little monster...

Our little monster...

Even though we are almost a month past Halloween, I wanted to share our little monster with everyone.
He's just too cute not to!

For Halloween we went to a party next door.
Mama threw the party and the little monster and his family went.

There was a fire and good food to eat.

There were several dressed for the occasion.
Some a little fancy, a little scary...

a little funny...

a little CRAZY...

and a few little cuties!!

Emma, Owen's second cousin.

And Elijah, Owen's cousin.

The day after Halloween Owen had his first UPS delivery.
Grammy and Poppy sent him a Trick or Treat bag!! I think he liked it!

We had a fun first Halloween as a family, with family!

Happy Halloween... or fall... or almost Thanksgiving.
:)

grant's farm (finally)...

Well, I am finally posting the second part of "Family Fun".
Back in October when my sister and her fun family came to visit us, we also took a trip to Grants Farm, home of the Budweiser Clydesdale's!
This was totally up our ally! We are horse people, but it was a little bitter-sweet for Chad and I. It made us miss our Cooper! None-the-less, we had a great time visiting all the animals at the farm. Especially the Clydesdale's!

This big boy was friendly to us...

we took turns getting to know him. We liked him!

Another BIG boy! Love those GIANT feet!!

The sister and her fun family.

Sweet boys...

silly goats...

the goat whisperer :).
I didn't have food for them, so they ate my hair!

Owen took in all the action... as always, trooper!

Welcome to a 3 year old's world... la la land... land of trouble... :)
Parker has left her family and has a plan... not sure that it worked out for her.

OHHH... what a very frightful experience.
I did scream right after this picture was taken.
Then.........

hmmm... seems like someone's scared!
Mind you, this is the guy who told me to get up close to take a picture. Something is wrong here.

Us, as we were leaving the farm.

On our way home we stopped for some pumpkins. Once we were home the boy's carved them.

Masterpiece!

Before our time together was over we got the cousins together for a photo op...

Sweet...

curious...

LOL!!!!!
We miss you Mershawn's!

busy boy...

Oh we're getting busy!

Owen has been maximizing on his tummy time experiences. He's working hard on that little head, and he's getting pretty good with it! He does take breaks from lifting, stopping to suck on his fingers, or thumb.

Here are some times that I've captured of his cute tummy time moments!

I feel like this past week he started perfecting so many things he's been doing, now he's doing them REALLY well.
First he found his thumb and it's becoming a great friend.
Then he really started pushing hard to get his head up SO high.
NOW, every morning we're finding him rolled over in his!!!
Goodness, he's getting smarter and smarter! It's cute watching him figure it all out :)

family fun...

We had visitors from Texas!!! We get really excited when we have visitors from Texas... it makes for a GOOD time! And they are some of our favorite people.
My sister and her fun family came to see us a few weeks ago. My "always have a plan" husband, filled our days with some adventures. We pushed our patience and nerves to the limits and had a fun 2 days with our young families together.

Our plan for day 1 was a trip to the zoo followed by a picnic in Forest Park. We got everyone bundled and loaded up and set out to see, lions, tigers, and BEARS!! Oh ya!

Owen rode bundled in his blankies, pretty sure he was oblivious to the whole trip.

Both of the boy's were loaded, we pushed them along from animal to animal. Tuck was ready for the adventure... Owen slept through most of it :)

The camels were a trip... they are interesting animals. I had a weekend full of CLOSE encounters with these strange creatures. (wait for Grant's Farm pictures... you'll see)

I had to include this awesome shot that Chad took... it's a little too close for comfort of me. However, it's the closest we got of having a picture with all of us in it (see sunglasses). Me, Owen, Chad, Amber, and Tucker. Way to go Chad, great job capturing the moment :)

Gorillas... Chad: "someone has b.o."
Me: "no babe, I'm pretty sure it's the gorilla"
Chad: "I'm pretty sure it's the foreigners ahead of us.... here, take my picture"
Me: "umm... ok"

Parker had the most fun. She collected leaves all throughout the zoo, then she would hand them to us. For us to save of course...
Much like Owen, Parker was slightly oblivious to the animals. :)
Not really, but slightly distracted!

Bears... oh how I wish you were friendly. I would love to hug a grizzly.
REALLY... I love them. They also love me... as a chew toy...

This little guy was cute... he was in his own world. He reminds me of Tucker (sorry Amber), mainly because he had something in his mouth the whole time. He also dragged that blanket around with him. I think he's cute, so I really mean it as a complement.

I really enjoyed the zebra's and giraffe’s. The detail and intricate patterns in their coats amaze me. I think it's so cool how God designed all of his creatures with such detail. Not one of us is the same, neither are any of his other creations. It's interesting how he would put that much work into his animals... animals that we rarely give much thought to. He put so much effort in creating and designing just patterns on these animals... they're amazing! It puts into perspective how greatly he thought of me when he designed me.

And more perspective... how much effort he put into this little dude...

Then gave him to me.... no pressure!
I can't wait to see what kind of design God put in and on this kid!

We had a great time at the zoo. Many laughs, a few melt downs, good times!
